Mataranka comes alive in May as the Never Never Festival pays tribute to its past and celebrates the future with activities and shows including movies, music, rodeo, sport, markets, campdrafting, and more!

Sponsored by Mataranka Roadhouse & part of the yearly Mataranka Never Never Festival, the Mataranka Rodeo includes food stalls, kids activities, camping, and classic rodeo entertainment with Bulls, Broncos, Barrels and more!

Mataranka Sunday Markets

Every Sunday during the tourist season, the Mataranka Markets offer locally made craft, produce, preserves, food stalls, coffee, BBQ and more, it’s fun for the whole family!

Variety Bash 2025: Mataranka

The Variety Bash is Australia's longest-running charity motoring event. The 2025 Bash starts in Hamilton and ends in Darwin, with one stop of the 10-day journey being Mataranka, NT.
